MEGT is thrilled to announce that it has once again been engaged to provide Australian Apprenticeship Support Services (AASS) from 1 July 2024 until 30 June 2026.
The news means MEGT remains the single largest Apprenticeship Network Provider (ANP) in the country, having provided these services continuously since 1998. AASS will replace the existing Australian Apprenticeship Support Network (AASN).
Under the terms of the new contract, MEGT will provide support for apprentices, trainees and employers on behalf of the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations (DEWR) in six out of eight employment regions across the country:
- Victoria
- New South Wales
- Queensland
- Australian Capital Territory
- Perth and Surrounds
- Outback Western Australia
While MEGT will not deliver the AASS program in South Australia and Tasmania from 1 July, it is committed to retaining a strong strategic presence by continuing to operate all other existing business units in both states.
The new AASS contract introduces some exciting changes to the way apprenticeship services are delivered, with a strong focus on improving commencement, retention and completion rates. These include:
-
Comprehensive pre-employment assessments to ensure early identification of support required for both apprentices and employers
-
Expanded mentoring and other services to provide tailored support for apprentices and trainees as they complete their qualifications
-
Increased engagement with schools to ensure a strong talent pipeline
Employers in South Australia and Tasmania currently receiving AASN services from MEGT will be advised by DEWR in due course about transitioning to a new provider.
