Silva Cabinetry is looking for a passionate and motivated individual to join our small, dedicated team as an Apprentice Cabinet Maker. This is a rare opportunity to learn the art of bespoke furniture and cabinetry making from the ground up, directly from the owner in a supportive and highly skilled environment.
We are known for producing high-quality, custom-made furniture and cabinetry, and we pride ourselves on craftsmanship, precision, and attention to detail. If you’re enthusiastic about design, enjoy hands-on work, and are keen to learn a valuable trade, we want to hear from you.
As an apprentice, you’ll receive hands-on training in all aspects of cabinet making, including:
- Handcrafting – Developing skills in traditional joinery and high-end finishing techniques
- Operating machinery – Safely using woodworking tools such as saws, routers, and jointers, table saw, band saw etc.
- Assembly and installation – Installing cabinets and custom furniture in both residential and commercial spaces
- Workshop maintenance – Keeping a clean, efficient, and organized workspace
- Reading plans and designs – Understanding and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints
We’re searching for someone who:
- Has a genuine passion for woodworking and furniture making
- Is eager to learn and willing to work hard
- Pays close attention to detail and strives for accuracy
- Can communicate clearly and follow instructions
- Is reliable, punctual, and physically fit for hands-on work
- Holds a high school diploma or equivalent
- Has a full Australian driver’s licence and access to a vehicle
- Experience or strong interest in workshop joinery or woodworking
- A positive, professional attitude and pride in your work
- Strong time management and problem-solving abilities
- An excellent eye for detail and design
